I had bought a 20 lb. block of dry ice for a demo I was going to do in my Chemistry. There were some left over pieces so I called up my friend and we had a little fun.

Tweetie for Mac is my first favorite Twitter client for OS X.

Its interface is just plain great, the way you can drill down through users is awesome, and you have all the controls you would online.

Direct messaging is no longer a confusing stream of conversations like it is on Twitter.com. Instead, direct messaging is now formatted like an iChat conversation, so you are never lost when it comes to who said what.

I also love its small desktop footprint it takes up. Growl notifications are very nice as well as the support for multiple accounts.

Tweetie may be young, but a lot of work has been going into it. It’s definitely worth a look if you want a great native Mac Twitter client.
